cusoso was born from real-world experience – not from Silicon Valley, but from dozens of real procurement projects across Europe.

Our Story

How cusoso came to be

Alex and David met in 2017 at a shared employer in the Source-to-Pay industry. Both started as consultants and accompanied dozens of international projects – from requirements analysis to complex tenders and system rollouts.

This period forged not only a close working relationship, but also a shared understanding of the market's shortcomings: many procurement software vendors carry 20 years of legacy code and push users into workarounds with a one-size-fits-all approach, rather than offering functional, user-centric software that works intuitively without lengthy training.

Alex brought a 15-year career in operational and strategic procurement at an international automotive supplier. David had studied sourcing and e-auctions both academically and in practice – as an Auction-as-a-Service expert at an S2P provider, he was one of the few who truly mastered the topic at depth across Europe.

In November 2023 they took the first step: under the name SourcingDNA they founded their company to turn their sourcing expertise into a modern software product. As they wanted to build the company without external capital, both continued working in employment and freelance projects well into 2025.

In 2025 the decisive breakthrough came: the first major customer was won – enabling the founding of cusoso GmbH. At the start of 2026 the next milestone followed: cusoso Target was launched – a SaaS platform built from the condensate of numerous client projects, offering intuitive sourcing tools that can be used flexibly without training or implementation effort.
